A club of soul music devotees will enjoy their 10th birthday bash this Saturday night (October 26).

The Seaside Soul Club has been running regular soul music dance nights in Morecambe since 2003.

Their first ever gig was at Upstairs Downstairs pub, and this Saturday’s event will be back at the same venue, now named The Boardwalk.

Admission is by donation with all proceeds from the evening going to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary Oncology Unit.

“To be back at the venue where it all started for the club will make it a very special night for all concerned,” said Jason Mills, club chairman.

“I know the DJs and those that attended the ‘Uppy’ in those early days have many fond memories of our time there, and I’d expect the unique atmosphere we created back then will return on the night. I wouldn’t want to miss it.”

DJs include Charlie Dixon, Duffs, Jason Mills, Larry Longton, Sean O’Connor, Sean Treacy, Simon Attwood, Tim Curry and guests. 8pm start.
