A special lady had two celebrations for her 100th birthday.

Annie Altham (nee Robinson) held a party for 100 guests at Arkholme village hall and also had a smaller party for her immediate family at The Midland hotel in Morecambe.

Annie was born at Middle Salter Farm, Roeburndale, the eldest of Joe and Eleanor Robinson’s eight children.

She married Thomas Altham, a director of Morecambe butchering firm Messrs JC Altham and Sons in 1941.

Thomas died in 1974.

They had four children, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary and Isabella.

Annie now has nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
