A SCRATCHCARD company based at Lancaster business park made a record £1,000,000 payout last Friday for a winning Golden ticket.
Lorna Carr travelled all the way from Galway with her family and friends to claim her prize and received the massive cheque on her 32nd birthday.

At first, she couldn't believe her luck.

"I found (the scratchcard] in a magazine," said Lorna.

"Myself and my boyfriend were in the car and the magazine was on the floor.

"I picked up the magazine when I was getting out of the car and the card actually fell out – fortunately I picked it up and took it into our apartment.

"I didn't play it until the following day.

"I didn't think anyone ever got the big prizes but when I realised that I had won £1 million cash I was shaking like a leaf…it's so hard to describe. I was completely shocked and lost for words.

"The news hasn't really sunk in yet but our immediate plans are to head off and see the world. Hopefully, the money will make life easier for my family too.

"Life will never be the same."

Purely Creative's managing director, Catherine Cummings said: "Everyone at Purely Creative is absolutely delighted for Lorna."
