EXCITING plans to transform Morecambe's Regent Park have been unveiled.
Over the last few years, a 'friends' group has been established who have been instrumental in a number of recent park improvements, including the refurbishment of one of its three bowling greens to competition standard and the development of a design
ated children's play area.

And now the Friends of Regent Park, with the support of Lancashire County Council's Community Design Programme, have taken delivery of professional drawings which, it is hoped, will help kick-start a programme of regeneration.

County Coun Janice Hanson, cabinet member for highways and
planning, said: "I am delighted that the county council is able to support the dreams and ambitions of the Friends of Regent Park.
"Many community groups often find themselves with a good idea for a project, but lack the resources to get their vision down on paper.

"Good illustrations, plans, specifications and costs are invaluable for community groups wishing to present their ideas and critically attract the funding they need to implement their projects."

The Friends of Regent Park first got in touch with the Environmental Projects Team at Lancashire County Council last year
