A MORECAMBE man has been banned from entering all public toilets in the country after he admitted a sex offence.
James Townson had made a grab for a man using toilets on Marine Road, Morecambe, Preston crown court heard.

The 52-year-old cook of Regent Road, Morecambe pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted sexual assault, on the basis that though he intended touching him, there was in fact no actual touching.

The offence occurred on February 4 this year.

He was a man of previous good character.

Judge Robert Brown told him: "In view of the fact this is your first offence, you admitted it straight away and pleaded guilty at the first opportunity, it is not necessary to impose a custodial sentence upon you."

The judge gave him a 10 months community order, involving supervision by the probation service.

In addition, he made an order for the same period, banning Townson from entering any toilets that members of the public at large have access to.

The defendant was told to pay £300 costs.
