LANCASTER City Council employees have been informed of a new pay structure designed to ensure they are paid fairly and receive equal pay for work of equal value.
The new structure, scheduled to be effective from July 1, will not affect the council's overall pay bill and there will not, therefore be any additional burden on taxpayers, say council bosses.
Some employees will receive an increase in pay, while others will have a reduction.
