A SERIAL burglar who targeted a Morecambe house over Christmas while the family were away took an autographed boxing glove.
Preston Crown Court was told that the glove – which contained many autographs of famous champion boxers – was of great sentimental value.

Craig Wilde, 36, of Fulwood Drive, Morecambe, who admitted two burglaries was jailed for three years. He had 47 previous convictions for 116 offences, including burglary.

Mr Nigel Booth, prosecuting, told the court that the burglary at St Christopher's Way, Morecambe, took place while the family were away for Christmas last year.

The second burglary involved an address on Lathom Avenue, Morecambe, between December 23 last year and January 4. The family who lived there were moving and he stole property which had been boxed.

Miss Farrhat Arshad, defending, said Wilde had a record for crime to fund his drug addiction.
