Morecambe had to be content with a point against bottom club Wrexham after the visitors were awarded two penalties on a controverial Christie Park evening.
>>> Watch the slideshow here...Brian Little's side took advantage of the lifeline given to them by referee Andrew Hall with penalties for Danny Sonner on 30 minutes
and Michael Proctor 11 minutes from time seeing them twice come back from behind.
Morecambe started the game superbly with Wayne Curtis giving them a seventh minute lead. Carl Baker was the inspiration with a great cross from the right hand side which flew across the Wrexham goal before Curtis bundled the ball past Gavin Ward from close range.
The visitors had played some neat football without causing Morecambe any problems until they were gifted a penalty when Danny Adams brought down Stewart Nicholson in the area and Danny Sonner sent Shwan Jalal the wrong way from the spot.
Morecambe took the lead for a second time on 51 minutes when Neil Roberts bundled the ball over his own goal line from Matty Blinkhorn's backheel but they were undone again when Blinkhorn was adjudged to have fouled and substitute Proctor smashed the ball down the centre of Shwan Jalal's goal.
Morecambe had a golden chance to win it with Craig Stanley and Garry Thompson missing golden chances although the Shrimps also had keeper Jalal to thank for a wonderful save from Drew Broughton on 38 minutes.
Wrexham skipper Richard Hope was sent off in injury time and Artell almost headed the Shrimps to victory with an effort that flew inches wide of the left hand post in the 92nd minute.
