MORECAMBE extended their unbeaten run to eight games with this well earned point against one of the league's top sides.
Sammy McIlroy's side made sure they went through a tough February unbeaten with another confident performance against a side managed by former England boss Peter Taylor.

The Shrimps played some neat football but depite their pressure failed to create too many chances against an excellent Wycombe defence.

A decent first half produced no goals despite some good football from both sides.

The Shrimps started brightly with Diarmuid O'Caroll forcing Jamie Young into a save low to his left before Wycombe came back with Craig Woodman shooting inches wide from the edge of the area after a neat one-two with Stuart Beavon.

O'Carroll was then inches away from connecting with Neil Wainwright's cross before Stewart Drummond produced the best moment of the half with a deft chip which curled inches over the bar.

Wycombe enjoyed a spell on top towards the end of the half and Barry Roche had to save low down from Matt Harrold's back flick from Matt Phillips's excellent low cross.

The second half saw O'Caroll again threaten with a long range shot that forced Jamie Young into a save low to his right and the striker also saw a late header loop into the grateful keeper's hands.

Michael Twiss headed a Garry Hunter corner over and Hunter himself tried to match his midweek stunner with another long range effort that cleared the crossbar.

Wycombe were stifled by the Shrimps but did have the ball in the net only to see Lewwis Spence pulled back for being offside.

Boss Sammy McIlroy sticks with the same team that beat Grimsby in midweek for the visit of in-form Wycombe.

Rene Howe is still ruled out with his hamstring injury but there is a change on the bench with Lewis Edge coming in for the injured Scott Davies.

New signing Mark Duffy is also on the bench alongside the returning Henry McStay and Fraser McLachlan.
