MICHAEL Twiss could be on his way to League Two rivals Bury.

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy told the club's official website that Twiss was considering the move.

He said: "I have a policy of always telling players if clubs are interested in them.

"I told Michael about Bury's interest and he seemed very keen. He lives two minutes away from Gigg Lane and I am sure that will be something that will interest him.

"He has been travelling up and down the motorway for five years now and that takes its toll on players I know.

"Michael had a difficult time of it last year and didn't play much football to be fair.

"At this stage of his career it is something that may give him a real lift and if he does sign for Bury we wish him all the best.

"He has been a great servant to Morecambe over the years but Bury would be ideal for him."
