He said: "I am bored of saying it now but we need to be far more ruthless in front of goal. We played some neat stuff and should have been 4-0 up at the break never mind 1-0 down.
"It was a game that just showed how we need to change things in cer
tain areas for next season.
"We wanted to end the home season on a high but we couldn't manage it and that was disappointing.''
Morecambe started well and produced some of their best football for weeks. Matty Blinkhorn fired over from the edge of the area after just two minutes and he then went on to see an effort cleared off the line by Adie Moses.
The striker curled an effort wide of the left hand post and Carl Baker also came close with a cheeky 30-yard lob.
But as Morecambe pressed they were caught out on the break and Lincoln opened the scoring as Ben Wright slotted home Gary King's through ball.
Lincoln keeper Ayden Duffy produced an excellent save from Garry Thompson in injury time and the pressure continued in the second half.
Craig Stanley saw an effort cleared off the line by Gary Croft on 53 minutes and Morecambe's hunt for a goal continued as Blinkhorn hit the post from the edge of the box with an excellent curler.
To make matters worse for the home side Lincoln hit a second 20 minutes from time when full-back Paul Green but inside from the right and produced an excellent left foot finish past the stranded Davies.
Louis Dodds was denied a third when he hit the post from the edge of the area before Morecambe scored the goal they deserved when Blinkhorn struck three minutes into injury time.
