The Visitor can reveal that the downfall of England's cricketers so far in the Test series with South Africa was hatched by some of Morecambe's cricketers.
Former Woodhill Lane pro Ashwell Prince has been South Africa's star so far with centuries at both Lords and Headingley.

But both of those scores came after Prince had been out for a meal with some of his former colleagues from when he was at Morecambe in 1999 and 2000.

Morecambe players Tommy Clough, Graham Lee, Jono Gates, Gareth Pedder and Vishal Goyal have been to watch the Tests.

And Clough explained that they were starting to feel guilty given Prince's superb form.

He said: "We went over to Headingley last Friday and went out for a meal in the evening when Ashwell was on 10 not out. After that, he went on to make 149.

"We won't go out with him to let England catch up in the next Test."
Prince, who scored 101 at Lord's, has fond memories of his time at Woodhill Lane.

Clough said: "He is so grounded. All he wanted to talke about was days at Morecambe.

"A lot of professional sportsmen forget where they came from but he is different. He had tickets for everybody who wanted them."

Lee was featured on TalkSport radio on Monday when he talked about when Prince stayed with him during his time in Morecambe.

The pair became good friends and Lee was best man at his wedding.

Lee remembered Prince's sleepwalking and a time he woke up to see Prince asleep and holding a golf club!
