YOUNGSTERS maintain Morecambe's remarkable Wembley winning streak with success in major youth final.
A TEAM of young footballers representing Morecambe FC won at Wembley today, Monday.
The team of Under 11s from Halton St Wilfrid's CE Primary won the national Under 11s Community Cup final 1-0 against a youth team representing MK Dons before the l
eague Two play-off final between Stockport County and Rochdale.
The only goal of the game was scored in the first half of the final by Scott McTominay, who is a member of the Manchester United schoolboy set-up.
They got there by qualifying through local and regional heats, winning the northern final against Rotherham at Bury.
The Halton side didn't concede a single goal in the whole event winning four and drawing one of their group games.

Before the match the Shrimps' Football in the Community Officer Janet Preston said: "It is a remarkable achievement for the school and the club and I am so pleased for them.
"The Football in the Community coaches has been involved with Halton for three years now and we know the school and the players well. We are delighted for them and we know they will have an amazing day out at Wembley."
Morecambe have a great record at Wembley, winning two out of two - the FA Trophy in 1974 and last year's Conference play-off.
Former Shrimps striker, Alan Taylor, also had success there scoring West Ham's two goals in the 1975 FA Cup final and, more recently, Allan Jackson, of Westgate was in the Kirkham and Wesham side that won this season's FA Vase.
