MORECAMBE rider, John McGuinness took his Isle of Man TT tally to 15 wins on Monday - putting him second on the all-time winners' list.
With a flawless ride in the re-scheduled TT 2009 opener, the Dainese Superbike event, McGuinness went ahead of motorpsort legend Mike Hailwood, with whom he'd previously been tied on 14 wins.

The late Joey Dunlop, however, is still the island record holder with 26 triumphs.

McGuinness finsihed 18.55 seconds ahead of his HM Plant Honda team-mate Steve Plater, with Hydrex Honda's Guy Martin in third.

McGuinness flew out of the blocks and, on lap two, broke the TT lap record with 130.442mph.

Bruce Anstey — second in last year's race and a major threat today — failed to make it beyond the first lap.
