TEN dedicated students from Lancaster University have been praised by police chiefs after volunteering to work for the charity Victim Support Lancashire.
The students received certificates from Ch Insp Tracie O'Gara after passing their volunteer training course.

Victim Support helps residents cope with the effects of crime by providing confidential support and information to victims of crime, and to witnesses attending local courts.

"To see so many young people take the time out to help victims in such a way is really wonderful," said Ch Insp O'Gara.

"It will provide the volunteers with great life experiences while they provide a great service in their community.''

The students receiving the awards were Amy Ashrafi, Rhiannon Bailey, Anna Booth, Rebecca Cook, Meagorzata Czerwien, Adele Honeyman, Thomas Mortlock, Rebecca Pass, Adam Waite and Jessica Lapinski.

What's your view on the use of CCTV?
More the merrier - if you've done nothing wrong, you've nothing to worry about
Only appropriate in certain crime-spot areas
I'd be very worried if we had too many
