Woman fined days before death
THE woman found dead in the toilets at St Nicholas Arcade in Lancaster was fined £100 for writing graffiti in the shopping centre just days before she died.
Lisa Briggs, whose body was discovered at around 5.30pm on Wednesday, was convicted of vandalism at St Nicholas Arcade, and was also convicted of stealing half a chicken and eight cans of beer, during a hearing at Lancaster Magistrates' Court.
Ms Briggs, whose address was given in court as Clarendon Road, Morecambe, was said to be a serial offender.
It is believed Ms Briggs, 27, came from the Fleetwood area, although she spent a lot of time living locally.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the deceased and her movements or lifestyle to come forward.
"Tests so far into why Ms Briggs died have proved inconclusive and our enquiries into how she died are continuing," said DCI Neil Esseen, the oficer in charge of the enquiry.
"We believe she was well known throughout the city and we would ask anyone who believes they have information as to her lifestyle, and in particular her movements on Wednesday, to contact us."
Lancaster Police can be contacted on 01524 63333.
