POLICE in Morecambe have reported a major decrease in anti-social behaviour.
Officers in the resort say they received 25 per cent fewer calls in July this year than in the corresponding month last year.

It is a figure that has delighted acting area inspector Geoff Tagg, who called it "excellent news for the people of Morecambe".

"We have worked hard with a number of local partners such as Poulton Neighbourhood Manage-ment and Morecambe Football Club as part of the Summer Nights operation to put in schemes to help reduce the figures and working closely together has no doubt helped produce some excellent results," said Insp Tagg.

Absolute rubbish, figures can prove anything that you want them to. They can also be shown to disprove common sense and observation. It is a well known fact that the Police fiddle the figures. Try asking the Inspector how many offences are on the 'cuff'. Sorry that is an expression used by the Victorian Police to record fiddleable offence and not record them properly. This was done on the cuff of their shirts. This way of working is still used today even more so.
Well done Inspector Tagg you have no doubt pleased your senior officers and their political masters.
