A SCHEME could be developed to allow NHS land at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary to be transformed into a multi-storey car park.
Council officers would work with the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust to develop a scheme for an interceptor car park on their land near the Pointer roundabout.

The car park would then be used for hospital visitors and commuters as a joint facility.

This would mean a planned interceptor car park for the council owned Auction Mart on Thurnham Street would not go ahead, and the land could be sold for future development.

Cabinet will discuss the idea at a meeting on February 16.
