KIDS drinking in public places will be targeted by police as part of their Summer Nights operation.
Police will patrol the district during the school summer holiday period looking to confiscate alcohol from underage drinkers.

All alcohol seized by officers will be destroyed and any underage drinker caught by police may be liable for prosecution. Adults found to be purchasing or supplying alcohol for use by juveniles can also expect to be prosecuted.
In cases where young people are found to be drinking, they may be returned to their home addresses by officers who will meet with parents or guardians and explain the dangers associated with this type of behaviour.

The head of local police, Ch Supt Tim Jacques, said: "We realise that most young people in our area do not cause any problems.

"But, sadly, there are a handful that spoil it for the rest by drinking alcohol and causing disruption for local communities. We will be looking out for those who cause such trouble and dealing positively with them."
