POLICE are appealing for information after a PCSO was injured when he was driven at while investigating a suspicious caravan.
PCSO Alan Gregory had been called to Whitendale, Lancaster, at 8.41am on Wednesday, July 8, after a resident called to notify police of a suspicious caravan and red Land Rover Defender parked nearby.

When PCSO Gregory arrived, a man appeared to be
changing a tyre on the vehicle.

PCSO Gregory went to speak to the man, but he got back in the vehicle and drove it at him – causing him to bounce off the bonnet.

PCSO Gregory, who covers the Ryelands and Scale Hall area and has worked for Lancashire Constabulary for the past seven years, was left with minor injuries but was able to continue his shift.

The vehicle drove off and was then seen to go into Asda, before being abandoned at the Salt Ayre sports centre.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Superintendent Richard Spedding, of Lancaster Police, said: "PCSO Gregory was going about his business.

"He was very lucky to have escaped serious injury. The way in which he was treated will not be tolerated.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen this vehicle or caravan either before or after the incident to come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to call 63333 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
