THE Midland Hotel will open on Sunday, June 1, it has been confirmed.
The 44-bedroom attraction will welcome its first guests through its doors that date following its £11million redevelopment by owners Urban Splash.
A beauty treatment centre the 'Midland Spa', run by Heysham couple Shaun and Jane Whatmuff, will also be open that day and The Visitor understands that the hotel's first conference is also booked in for the Sunday.
We will bring you more news on the Midland's opening in next week's Visitor.
Meanwhile hoardings were removed from part of the building's perimeter, revealing a hive of activity in readiness for the opening day.
