MORECAMBE lifeboat crew will be braving the big chill by swimming from the stone jetty to the lifeboat station to raise money for charity.
The swim is part of SOS Day 2010, the RNLI's biggest fundraising day of the year and it's a great way to get the year off to a cracking start, while helping to save lives at sea.

By having fun on the SOS day you will be supporting the crews' bravery and helping raise money to pay for training, lifeboats and life saving equipment.

The swim is on Sunday, January 31 and the crew will be entering the water at 11am.

If you would like to sponsor a lifeboat crew swimmer you can donate on the day, by seeing one of the supporting lifeboat crew members on the day or contacting Morecambe lifeboat station.

There will also be sponsorship forms available at Classic Engraving opposite the Morecambe lifeboat station to sponsor the swimmers.

After the swim the crew are inviting anyone who would like to come along to The Palatine ( opposite the clock tower) for a question and answer session on the RNLI, and hot homemade soup will be served – for a donation.

Please come along and support your local lifeboat crew.
