PLANS to start a home library service from Carnforth library are under discussion.
The service would be aimed at people living in the Carnforth, Warton, Over Kellet and Nether Kellet areas.

The home library service is intended for residents who are restricted to their home through age, infirmity or disability and who are unable to arrange for their library items to be changed on their behalf.

The service is very well established across the county and is delivered by trained, CRB-checked volunteers who are assigned regular routes.

Visits are fortnightly and allows the library service to provide the full range of items that the borrower may wish to borrow including small and large print novels, non-fiction, audio books on cassette or CD, DVDs, music CDs and jigsaws.

During this year of wellbeing those receiving the Home library Service in Morecambe and Lancaster have also received extra useful informat-ion from a wide variety of agencies keen to make those in their own home feel safe.

If you would like to use the home library service, or know someone else who would, contact Carnforth Library on 01524 732815.

If you would like to volunteer to deliver the service in the above areas contact project manager Linda Robinson at Morecambe library Tel: 01524 415215.
