A BEAT-BOXING bricklayer was the unlikely but very popular winner of Lancaster and Morecambe Newspapers' 'Talent On Show 2009' contest on Saturday night.
And what made Jack Brennand's winning performance even more amazing, is that he doesn't even like hip-hop!
Using nothing but his voice and a microphone to create an astonishingly accurate and entertaining routine of drum and bass sounds, the unemployed 19-year-old from Lancaster was a smash hit with the crowd at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster.

Afterwards 'the hu-man beat-box' told The Visitor: "I'm speechless.
"I didn't expect to win. I did that routine freestyle. It does take a lot of practice."
Jack, a qualified bricklayer, said he will spend the money on going to the UK music festival 'Global Gathering' next month.
Judging by his performance on Saturday, Jack could end up performing there one day.
But the humble teenager said: "I do a few gigs around Lancaster but I don't think I'm good enough for that!"
The Grand Theatre audience, and judges including BBC1 'Any Dream Will Do' star Rob McVeigh, clearly disagreed.
The second annual Talent On Show finals saw 15 acts perform live on the Grand stage.
The runner-up was 11-year-old singer Clarissa Pildiswj from Rochdale, who won an iPod Shuffle.
Clarissa's performance of 'Halle-lujah' showed maturity and a vocal range beyond her tender years.
