DRUGS raids were carried out in Lancaster on Tuesday after police acted on information from concerned residents.
Police stormed properties in Tarnsyke Road and Queen Street. A 22-year-old male from Morecambe was arrested at the first property for possessing amphetamine and will appear before Lancaster Magistrates on May 22.

A quantity of cannabis plants were also found at a house on Lincoln Road with a 30-year-old male placed on bail.

"People from local communities have provided us with intelligence and we are acting on that," said Sgt James Pinder.

"Members of the public can be assured that information provided to us will be acted upon confidentially and this will form part of an ongoing response to anti-social issues caused by drug dealing.

"Members of the public who see drug dealing or who are affected by it should make contact with us and we will be able to do something about it. This is about making life better for the vast majority of decent hard working people in Lancaster."

Leaflet drops also took place at neighbouring homes telling people exactly what had happened.

IF you are affected by such issues in your area please contact police on 01524 63333 or alternatively ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
