PEOPLE who have paid money in instalments to MotorWorld for bicycles and other items say they are out of pocket following the closure of a large number of shops, including one in Morecambe.
Customers visiting MotorWorld at Euston Road were greeted with a notice on the door saying it had gone into administration.

Unfortunately for one customer, single parent Darren McMullen of Highgrove Close in Morecambe, the closure of the shop means money he had been putting away for a bike for his daughter for Christmas, has gone.

He said: "I've been paying £5 every week for the bike and had £49 left to pay.

"I can't do anything about it and I feel helpless and angry.

"I will have to save up again and go to one of the bigger stores as Leanne has got her mind set on a bike for Christmas.

"I've got to save harder now."

Dermot Power, Graham Newton and Matthew Dunham, Business Restruc-turing partners at BDO Stoy Hayward, have been appointed as joint administrators of MotorWorld.

As a result of a significant downturn in retail sales on the high street, 95 of MotorWorld's 237 retail units have been closed immediately with the loss of 300 jobs.

MotorWorld had suffered from a significant downturn in retail sales on the high street which had led to a considerable number of its retail units trading at a direct loss.
