THE first black tie ball at the newly reopened Midland Hotel raised over £10,000 for children's charity NCH.
More than 200 guests enjoyed a champagne reception before being personally welcomed to the hotel by Urban Splash Managing Director, Bill Maynard.

Situated in the newly refurbished function room, guests were then treated to spectacular views across the Bay while being served a four-course meal accompanied with live music from 1920s band 'Oscar Bernhardt's Charleston Charlies'.

A host of well known guests attended the event including designer Wayne Hemingway and TV antique expert Paul Hayes, who also led the lively charity auction.

Catherine Butterworth, NCH Fundraiser, said: "We're so thrilled to have hosted the first major function in the new refurbished hotel. Everyone had a fantastic night and the money raised will go towards our work with vulnerable children, young people and families in this area."
