The atmospheric Winter Gardens will host a night of classic 70s soul and 80s disco this Sunday (September 7).

Soul Casino will create the sounds and style deep funk to northern, rare groove to classic soul, disco, authentic R&B mod sounds and early house.

The event begins at 5.30pm with a dance class. If you don’t know how to do those basic Northern soul dance moves and you want to learn, then Fiona Smith from Dance Northern will show you the way! At 5.45pm, Northern Soul The Film is iconic film footage to dance to featuring Wigan Young Souls. Another dance class at 6.30pm is followed by ‘So Soulful 70s’ as connoisseurs of ‘70s soul, Sean O’Connor and Steve Plumb, start to take the tempo up.

At 8pm, Wayne Hemingway will play records from his collection of ‘70s Northern and modern soul, underground disco and jazz funk.

Blackpool Mecca icon, DJ Colin Curtis, will then take to the stage followed by legend of Northern soul, Richard Searling, re-awakening memories from those Wigan Casino All Nighters. The night closes at around 12.30pm when Richard Sealing and Wayne Hemingway go back to back playing farewell songs.
