It’s fair to say Morecambe has suffered from a shortage of trendy male clothes shops for several years.

But Michael Duffin aims to change all that.

Michael has opened ‘Boy About Town’ in the back of the Dotty’s Vintage shop on Marine Road West.

Named after his favourite song by mod legends The Jam, Boy About Town sells the kind of clothes that Morecambe’s premier pop band The Heartbreaks might wear...and see our photo for proof!

Michael roped in three members of the cheeky four-piece, (Ryan Wallace, Chris ‘Deaks’ Deakin and Joseph Kondras) along with Morecambe scooterist, ska and mod fan ‘Pud’ Waterhouse, to model some of his shirts.

“I lived in Manchester for a while and when I came back home to Morecambe I really struggled to buy the kind of clothes I like to wear,”
said Michael.

“I decided to do something about it, so Morecambe can have an alternative.”

Michael, a big soul and rock ‘n’ roll music fan, also DJs at More Music in his spare time.

The Heartbreaks recently finished recording their second album and it is expected to be released later this year, with a working title ‘The Bastards Are Winning’.
