Singing the blues in Morecambe

editorial image

IF you enjoy singing the blues then get along to The Platform in Morecambe this Friday (March 4) .

The Blues Band was formed in 1979 by ex-Manfred Mann group members Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness originally to play a few pub gigs on Paul Jones’ nights off from his full time career as an actor in London’s West End.

Manfred Mann had two number ones during the 1960s with Jones as lead singer, the timeless Do Wah Diddy Diddy and Pretty Flamingo, and other Top 10 hits including If YouGotta Go Go Now,

Paul, who now has his own Radio 2 blues music show, and Tom then called on Tom’s old McGuinness Flint friend Hughie Flint to play drums.
