Shire brilliance

AN evergreen and ever-changing show of verse, prose, songs, carols, stories and panto starts at Lancaster Castle on Wednesday, December 12.

The castle’s resident professional theatre company, demi-paradise productions, performs their annual celebration of Christmas in words and music Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly.

Performed in the splendid setting of Shire Hall, Deck the Hall... is a mix of new material and old favourites that gets even the most jaded and cynical in the right mood for the extended holiday ahead.

Compiled and devised by Sue McCormick, the company of five actor/readers are teamed up with female a cappella singing partners Five in a Bar under the musical direction of Jude Glendinning.

Reader/singers include co-directors Sue McCormick and Sarah Thurstan with Mike Coombs, Charlotte Dalton, Richard Sails.

Performances take place from Wednesday December 12 to Saturday, December 15. Doors open every night at 7pm, for a 7pm start.

Tickets for the preview night (December 12), are £10 adults/£5 children, and £13 adults/£6.50 children on all other nights. Tickets for all four shows include complimentary mulled wine (or juice) and mince pie.

For tickets, call in person at Shire Hall or call (01524) 64998.
