Historian Terry Ainsworth is appealing for readers to get in touch and help provide more football nostalgia.
Pictured here with the trophies they won in the North Lancashire & District Football League in 1957-58 are players and officials of the successful teams who received trophies from the league president, Dr R C Cunningham, the medical superintendent of the Royal Albert Hospital, at a presentation dance held at the Floral Hall, Morecambe.
The dance was attended by almost 1,000 people, who danced to the music of Cyril Burnett and his orchestra.
Three notable players on the front row are:(second left) Alan Palmer, who played at Bury as well as Morecambe; (fourth left )Clarence Douglas (Dougie) Procter, who played for triple trophy winners Caton United; and (sixth left) Harry Little (Jock) Kerr, another Caton United stalwart.
