A new exhibition is gathering some speed in Morecambe.

‘Next Stop...Morecambe!’ is a nostalgic look at the history of the town’s rail network and the days when thousands would travel to the resort by train for their holidays.

This display of Morecambe railway memorabilia will be held at the Morecambe Heritage Centre near the Winter Gardens and will open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 4pm for a limited period.

The exhibition has been a great success since it opened on January 16.

Admission is £2. Accompanied children go free. The curator is Rob Daniels.

The Morecambe Heritage Centre, run by volunteers, opened in 2015.

Volunteer Peter Wade’s mural is also close to completion. It’s a joint effort with the local community and depicts all the famous buildings in Morecambe.
