Young musicians are getting ready to Rock the Square this summer.

Singers and bands will perform in Market Square in Lancaster for free every Friday in June.

The series begins this Friday (June 7) with music from Ark, Alice Ashcroft, Charlie Galloway and Davita Beswick.

June 14 sees Brendan Cleary headline with Stereotypical, Beth Jones, Tom ‘Muller’ Mulliner and Lucas Button.

Fourth Time Lucky will headline on June 21 with This Time Next Week, Georgia Winrow and Shuhui Ren.

Headline act on the final Friday, June 28, is Fields supported by Charlie Galloway and Josh Dixon, Confluence of Rivers and Trap Door.

“We wanted to give the acts a boost and entertain the public at the same time,” said Fay Cooper, More Music youth leader.

Music runs from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.
