DIVERSITY by name, diverse by nature. Lancaster’s community radio station believes in giving absolutely everybody a chance to get into broadcasting.
Diversity FM’s roster of radio presenters includes a six-year-old boy, a blind man from Nigeria and an 80-year-old retired university lecturer.
All of them have learned the ropes of radio from Duncan Moore, Tony Cudlip and their team who run the station at the YMCA in Lancaster.
Duncan, volunteer co-ordinator, and Tony, studio and technical manager, offer training to anyone who wants to get on to the airwaves.
Jacob Lawson, a 12-year-old Ripley schoolboy from Lancaster, is one person to have benefited from visiting the Diversity studios.
