Danny Boyle’s stage version of Frankenstein starring Benedict Cumberbatch as The Creature will be screened in Lancaster this Hallowe’en.

Boyle’s show from the National Theatre will be beamed into the Dukes Cinema on October 31.

A second screening on November 2 will see Jonny Lee Miller in the monster role as Cumberbatch plays Victor Frankenstein.

Two other National Theatre screenings will be held as part of its 50th birthday celebrations.

They are Rory Kinnear’s acclaimed portrayal of Hamlet on October 26 and 27 and Alan Bennett’s Habit of Art starring the late Richard Griffiths on November 10.

The first NT Live screening of the new season – Othello – is already sold out at The Dukes but there will be an encore on November 2.
