FRESH from snapping the world’s most famous burlesque performer Dita Von Teese in Hollywood for his new book, a Morecambe-born photographer and promoter will bring his latest tantalising show to Lancaster this Saturday (October 1).
Neil Kendall promises that his cabaret show the Lunar Lovelies Autumn Ball at the Ashton Hall will be even more spectacular than his debut sell out burlesque event at the venue last January.
The show will feature a Dita Von Teese tribute dancer in a giant champagne glass and birdcage, and other enticing international burlesque performers.
As for the real Dita, Neil is excited about working alongside the voluptuous American on his new project Mondo Burlesque – a coffee table book of classic photographs of burlesque performers worldwide.
“I went out there in August and spent a 10-hour day with her, taking photographs of her new act, where she plays a Geisha girl in an opium den,” said ex-Morecambe High pupil Neil.
“We ended up going out for drinks and got on like a house on fire.
“She’s written to me and said she loved the photographs and she’s written the foreword for my book.
“It would be great to bring her over to Lancaster but her appearance fee is £150,000!”
