Rehearsals for the Morecambe Amateurs’ summer show ‘Annie’ begin tomorrow night (January 15) at 7.30pm. The children’s parts have already been cast but adults are welcome to audition. Rehearsals take place at Stanley’s on Stanley Road. All welcome to come along. Annie is one of the world’s most popular musicals, originally based on the cartoon strip Little Orphan Annie. It originally opened on Broadway in 1977, came to the West End of London in 1978 and was turned into a film in 1982 starring Aileen Quinn and Albert Finney. Popular numbers include ‘Tomorrow’ and ‘It’s a Hard-Knock Life’. The musical will be shown at the Grand Theatre, Lancaster from June 24 to 28.
