The Dukes and Lancashire Age UK aim to hit the high notes with their latest event aimed at making the arts more accessible to older people.

Singing Out is a fun singing event for older people at the Lancaster venue from 1pm to 3.15pm on June 12.

Led by Anni Tracy from More Music, the aim of the workshop is for people to enjoy and develop their singing. It is open to any older people who enjoy singing – including the many who have been told at some time in their life that they can’t sing!

The £3 admission includes tea, coffee or fruit juice. Places should be booked in advance by calling The Dukes box office on 01524 598500 or visit www.dukes-lancaster.org

Age UK Lancashire is offering assistance with transport to this event for those who need it.

For more information, call the Linking Communities Research Team on 01524 387840.

Singing Out is the latest in a series of events run by The Dukes in collaboration with Age UK Lancashire to encourage easier access to the arts for older people.

For many people, older age provides a chance to try out new interests and theatre and film performances present an exciting opportunity to look at the world through new eyes.

Events at The Dukes are specially programmed as part of an initiative to ensure that facilities are more suitable for people with dementia and their families but Singing Out is open to any older person.
