REGARDING your editorial (TownCrier) of July 9, the town has just woken up to the fact that Urban Splash are not the good guys they
pretend to be and our council is ready to sell the town's gold and silver for flats on the prom and loss of the most marvellous view – one that Blackpool would exchange the tower for.
Judging from your editorial you have gone over to the enemy and deliberately taken photos on a misty morning to emphasise your point.
I am disgusted with your underhand tactics, you are not the honourable man I thought you were.

Editor's note: Ouch! Not fair. I accept the photo didn't reproduce in print as clearly as I'd have liked – but it wasn't deliberate or underhand.
On the contrary, I 'deliberately' made the specific point of urging readers to go and look for themselves. Choose the most glorious, clear, brilliant day and my point still stands.
Of the entire length of Marine Road from Bare to the Battery, the view afforded of our bay across the site in question is about the worst in Morecambe.
If I was showing visitors around it's the last place I would choose as a vantage point from which to enjoy the beautiful panorama. At best you have the former Bubbles fence impeding the view of the Furness Peninsula, at worst the banking and bushes near The Dome block any view at all.
Go and look.
To get a good view of our magnificent bay from there you need to go on the prom to the seaward side of the Bubbles fence – and you would still be able to do that if these plans were approved.
And let's remember what was there before – two structures, the Harbour Band Arena and the Super Swimming Stadium of which we all have fond
memories but which completely and utterly blocked nearly all the view from this exact same site.
I don't recall reading anywhere of any protests about 'blocking views' when the old Morecambe Council built those, or the original Midland Hotel.
As I said, make your comments about the plans by all means – I have my own reservations – but, unless you live above one of the promenade shops, the loss of 'view' from there is, in my opinion, a 'red herring' argument.
