Published Date: 28 August 2008
ON Tuesday, July 15, at about 10.15am, I had the misfortune to fall over a raised paving stone, and out of the blue came two gentlemen from the county council refuse collection wagon to help me.
They were at the junction of Fairfield and Woodlands, also an ambulance gentleman who took me to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

I sustained a broken wrist and a fat lip, and had to have stitches in my knee.

I'd just like to thank these men very much – I'm afraid I didn't get their names to thank them personally.
