THE organisers of the West End Festival weekend would like to thank all involved in Morecambe's two days of fantastic events.
Regent Park really came to life for the West End Festival and we were delighted to have so many stallholders and groups involved.
All artists and performers were marvellous. It was excellent to have Sandylands ceilidh band and Westgate hip hop da
ncers showcase the skills that they have learnt this year at school. Also entertaining the audiences were the Friday Night MC Crew, Orbit, Baybeat, Nancy Kent, Bowerham Community Steel band, Orbit and Baybeat.
The Regent Park Studios Stunt team and members of Kuk Sool Wan Martial Arts school impressed with their daring and expertise.
The fifth annual 'Catch the Wind' kite festival was another hugely-successful event. Thousands of people flocked to Morecambe to see the spectacular kite displays and to watch the wonderful line-up of bands perform on The Platform stage while Diversity FM provided the soundtrack to the afternoon.
Special thanks to the staff at The Platform, stewards and volunteers who were a great help and ensured that the event ran smoothly.
Thanks also to the children of Sandylands, West End, Poulton and Morecambe Bay Primary Schools, who made the beautiful banners, with Anna Read and Shane Johnstone, shown in The Platform.
The continued support of the police and St John Ambulance
service is invaluable.
Please contact More Music – info@moremusic.org.uk – if you would like to be involved in next year's festivals or in sponsorship.
This year's events were backed by the city council, Winning Back Morecambe's West End and Poulton Neighbourhood Management.
Thanks again.
