I AM all for Eric having his partner with him but I think we should not forget Thora Hird.
She never ever passed up a chance to plug Morecambe in all her pictures or programmes.

Also, if I remember well, I think she left some money to the town in her will.

I am sure her daughter must be hurt with all the publicity Eric gets.

Thora was very well-liked. It was mentioned about a tribute to her in the town but, for a few years now, there hasn't been a mention even of her name.

I agree. I idolise Eric Morecambe, I even have a lapel badge of him constantly on a jacket, but can't understand why she gets overlooked. Off the top of my head I can't think of anywhere in Morecambe there is even a picture of Thora, although I'm sure I've seen one somewhere.
