IT is reported in the press that Lancashire County Council has retained US based consultants Jacobs to help it build the Heysham M6 Link Road.
So money appears to be no object in creating this £189million
monster road through North Lancashire's Green Belt.

Is there any chance that a little of our taxpayers' money could be spent on improving access to and from Lancaster and Morecambe, which is what concerns most people? Measures to relieve congestion are clearly set out in the Lancaster Vision Board report, but to a recent question in Parliament, the Government replied that it would not fund them.

Our local MP, our local council and the majority of local people who understand the proposed route, all realise that the road won't solve congestion, won't bring jobs, but will trash the countryside and devastate people's lives.

I would say that this is a high price to pay for so very little benefit.
