IT seems to me that since cycling was allowed on the promenade it was an instant pass for pavements, arcades, one way streets, parks,
gardens – you name it.
But I had to chuckle one morning whilst driving over the brow of Westgate bridge.

Yes! he was pedalling up towards me in the cycle lane on my left,
perhaps he thought he was in France!

I don't often cycle on pavements, but will definetly stop doing it the day pedestrians stop walking out in front of me when I'm on the roads, even when they can see me coming, and I have to swerve them, or when cars stop using pavements as parking bays.
