STOREYS need two wins from their final three games to secure the Lancaster Honda North Lancashire League Premier Division title after a 2-2 draw with Marsh United on Saturday.
Storeys knew they had to avoid defeat against their big rivals and they had chances early on, Martin Lewis and Gary McGonnall just failing to convert chances.
Captain Andy Sanderson did find the net just before the break when he ghosted in at the far post and crashed home Gareth Turner's free-kick.
But the second half was only three minutes old when Marsh opened up Storeys' defence with ease and equalised when Jonathon Pedder scored from 10 yards out.
They took the lead soon after when Lee Sparks skipped through three half-hearted tackles to score a good goal.
Storeys responded in the right way and piled on the pressure. The excellent McGonall almost put his side level but his terrific shot was brilliantly turned round the post.
The equaliser came with 20 minutes to go when, from a corner, the unlucky Pedder mis- kicked a low ball which spun into the Marsh goal.
Storeys still have a hard run in as they now travel to play Cartmel, Kirkby Lonsdale (last night, Tuesday) and Ingleton needing six points as both goal differences are similar.
Carnforth Rangers were under strength in their 3-1 defeat at Swarthmoor Social Club.
Shane Birkitt gave Swarthmoor an early lead but Rangers fought back to equalise with a penalty from Alec Gorton.
The second half saw Swarthmoor take the game to Carnforth as their leading scorer Graham Wilcox then Jamie Donald made the game safe.
Morecambe Royals made hard work of beating a weakened Kirkby Lonsdale side.
Both sides had chances to score but it was left to veteran Stuart Talbot and leading scorer Gareth Holmes to ensure Kirkby Lonsdale went home pointless.

The League's highest scorers won 9-0 in a one-sided game.

The game went away from Vine in a six-minute spell when Chris Wright scored a hat-trick.

Nicky Pearson, promoted from the reserve team, opened the scoring followed by veteran Adam Rawlins. The goal of the game was a free-kick from Ingleton's Steve Pickup.
Cartmel Reserves had to battle hard to beat a much more experienced Morecambe Royals Reserves.
Cartmel fielded nine players aged under 19 and led through an own goal.
Aidan Dunphy levelled for Royals only for Carl Davidson to net the winner.

Bolton-le-Sands had an exciting 5-4 defeat at Caton United Reserves in midweek but against Freehold on Saturday, they won 2-0 with goals by Peter Bowden and Chris Mather in a game void of excitement.
Kirkby Lonsdale Reserves had been on a good run but were beaten by a good Morecambe Cricket Club side.
MCC stuck to its task and eventually came out on top with goals by Andy Forbes, Adam Nutt and young Anthony Turner. Kirkby's effort brought them two goals scored by Tremble brothers, Scott and Aaron.
In Division Three, Galgate Reserves are promoted to Division Two following a 3-1 win over Gregson Fc.

Bolton--e-Sands Reserves are champions but with its first team unable to gain promotion they must stay in Division Three.
In Division Four, Bentham Reserves won a cracking match when they beat a very good College AFc Reserves side 4-2.
