The two Lancashire Amateur Cup matches outstanding saw victories for the Lancaster Honda North Lancashire League teams on Saturday.
Bolton-le-Sands faced a tough tie against Burscough Bridge but they played exceptionally well. Goals by Nicholas Pidcock and Alec Bateson set up a tie at either Accrington Amateurs or Old Blackburnians.

Highgrove FC travelled to Oldham to play Old Hulmeians and came away with a 4-1 win after a very good performance, goals being scored by Jamie Lothian, Scott King, Luke Ogley and Dan Broadley.

In the next round they are at home to Marsh United. Both ties will be on October 4.

In the Premier Division, Storeys are now the only unbeaten side but they were fortunate to squeeze past Swarthmoor, a late own goal giving the champions three points.

TIC Dynamos lost for the first time this season when they lost a cracking game at Cartmel 2-1.

There were plenty of chances but Cartmel edged it with two good strikes by Dean Richards and John Mason with TIC replying through Alan Shanks.

Kirkby Lonsdale played as well as they needed to beat bottom team Caton United 5-2 with Nathan Jackson (2) and Matthew Longden scoring a hat-trick.

Probably the biggest shock of the day was the 3-1 defeat of Carnforth Rangers by a rejuvenated Galgate side.

Carnforth got off to the perfect start when former Galgate player Byron Nixon scored but the hard-working Galgate side wore them down and deserved the win with goals by Ryan Lackey (2) and Charles Andrews
Halton Rangers are still without a point and had to rely on seven Reserve team players in the game with Morecambe Royals, who were clinical in front of goal through Gareth Holmes and James Forrest.

Marsh United and Morecambe Hoops served up a feast of attacking football with Marsh edging the game 2-1.

Marsh started much the better but were denid by Hoops' stand-in keeper Danny Ecob, who had gone in goal having injured himself in the warm-up.

He continued to deny Marsh until, in the 70th minute, he made his only blunder, misjuding a high ball and allowing Jordan Sparks to score.

Hoops were soon level when usual keeper John Boothroyd rounded off some excellent approach work but Marsh had the last laugh in injury-time when Danny Hunt won it.

In Division One, Bentham lost 5-1 to a College AFc. They went in front but it all went downhill after Tim Breen equalised for College. They took the lead when Matthew Graham scored and added three more after the break through Breen, Graham and Wayne Dixon.

Bowerham moved to the top after winning a close game with Cartmel Reserves with Joe Bouskill and Theo Pavli scoring.

Marsh United Reserves kept up their 100 per cent start when they overran Grange, winning 5-0 with goals from Ben Simm, Kieron Moffatt, Scott Sparks, Lee Stewart and Mark Falmer.

Morecambe Royals Reserves were made to pay for missing chances as Millhead beat them 1-0.

Storeys Reserves bounced back from going a goal down to Ingleton Reserves by scoring seven, Paul Boyle scoring his second successive hat-trick.

In Division Two, Middleton were well beaten by in-form Arnside 4-0 while Freehold finally hit form with a 6-0 win over Swarthmoor Reserves.

Furness Rovers also won their first game 3-2 over Galgate Reserves but Slyne-with-Hest (LCC) 'A' are still pointless after a 2-1 loss to Westgate Wanderers.

Division Three match of the day saw Carnforth Rangers Reserves draw 2-2 with Squires Fc and there were also draws between Allithwaite and Bolton-le-Sands Reserves and Heysham and Bentham Reserves. Burton Thistle were too good for bottom team Arnside Reserves, winning 2-0.

In Division Four, Morecambe Gold outplayed Ingleton 'A' to win 6-0 with a hat-trick for Nigel Borrass. Millhead Reserves won their third successive game, 3-1 over Gregson Reserves, while AFc Moorlands struck top form to beat College AFc Reserves 6-3.

Highgrove Colts won again, 6-1 over Heysham Reserves, and Morecambe Cricket Club Reserves battled hard to overcome Overton Reserves 4-2.

Ingleton suffered a surprise 4-2 defeat at home to Gargrave in the Craven Senior Cup first round.
