BOTH Premier Division favourites dropped points at the weekend as the title race continues to surprise.
Marsh United travelled to Cartmel, always a hard place to get a result, and came away with a 2-2 draw.

The game was played at a high tempo with both sides going all out to win, but at the end a draw was a fair result with Dean Richards scoring twi
ce for Cartmel and Lee Sparks replying with a double.

Storeys were surprisingly beaten 3-0 by Highgrove FC to blunt their challenge for the title.

Highgrove had the better of the first half and led 2-0 through Luke Ogley and Carl Pickles.

The second half saw Storeys have most of the possession but Highgrove made sure of its win when Ogley scored his second.

Highgrove produced another great result on Monday night with a 2-1 win at Carnforth Rangers, despite playing for 85 minutes with only 10 men after their goalkeeper was sent off.

Ingleton travelled to Galgate and picked up a good 3-2 win.

Galgate went into a 2-0 lead through Steve McMinn and Charles Andrews but a solo goal from Jack Bland put Ingleton back in the game.

Curtis Wood then took over by scoring two good goals to move Ingleton up to fifth position and still with a shout of the title.

Swarthmoor Social Club showed their potential as they drew 4-4 with TIC Dynamos.

Swarthmoor's all-round performance was very good with goals from Stuart Mason, Ryan Lackey and Rikki Gallagher (2).

TIC replied with a goal from Lee Rendell and a great hat-trick from Mark Wiggins.

The bottom two in the division met as Slyne-with-Hest (LCC) hosted Torrisholme.

The score was 1-1 at the break with Slyne-s Paul Gill and Torrisholme's Nicholas Dagger on target but the referee decided the pitch was unplayable at half-time and abandoned the game.

The Sam Price Memorial Cup semi-final between Morecambe Royals and Carnforth Rangers was spoilt by a galeforce wind.

The first half wasa goalless and Royals had the wind in the second period but could not find an opening.

Rangers battled well and although they had a man sent off with 15 minutes to go, they manaed to scored the only goal in injury-time when Alec Gorton set up player-mnager Andy Taylor and his deflected shot went in.

Rangers will meet the winners of the Storeys v Highgrove semi-final which will be played this Saturday. The final at Giant Axe will be played on Monday, April 14 at 7.30pm.

Ingleton Reserves reached the final of the Squires Snooker & Sports Bar/ Fisher/ Howson Remembrance Cup after a 4-0 win over Morecambe Royals Reserves.

They dominated the first half and opened up a 3-0 lead with the excellent Jonathon Boadle scored a scintillating hat-trick.
The final nail in the Royals' coffin came when Alex Hartley scored Ingleton's fourth goal.

In the final on Monday, April 21, Ingleton will meet Storeys Reserves who saw off Marsh United Reserves.

Storeys took an early lead when Dave Leslie scored but Marsh played as well as they have all season and took the game into extra-time.

The stronger and more experienced Storeys side came out on top winning 4-2, Leslie again, Steven Creed and Liam Westworth scoring. Jordan Sparks and Robert Reay scored for Marsh.

Divison One leaders Bentham met Slyne-with-Hest (LCC) A for the second week running. After last week's 14-0 drubbing, Slyne were determined to keep the score down.

Bentham had to battle but the inevitable happended as they racked up six goals through James Short, Jamie Parker, Chris Hodgkinson, James Earnshaw (2) and substitute Tomi Tatham.

Morecambe Hoops had a much harder game than they expected or wanted when they played Vine Fc.

Hoops only made the game safe in the last minute with their second goal, Kevin Burns and Des Martinez scoring against an unlucky Vine Fc side that tried its best for the whole of the game.

Halton Rangers ran out 7-0 winners over Millhead, with six goals after the break when they played with the wind.

Liam Jeffrey (3), Jonathon Pink, Adam Lund (2) and Chris Wright were on target.

Cartmel Reserves won their derby against Grange 3-1 with goals from Jack Gill, Brian Lowrie and an own goal.

Division Two leaders Bowerham bounced back after last week's defeat to beat Swarthmoor Reserves 5-2.

Bowerham were always in control with goals from Joe Bouskill, Tom Spencely (2), Simon Gillespie and a penalty by Matthew Buczynski.

The match of the day was between Morecambe Cricket Club and Bolton-le-Sands.

Bolton-le-Sands took an early lead when Daniel Shepherd scored from close in and they added further goals through Ashley Ward and Mark Smith.

Scott Elderton and Graeme Cassidy scored for MCC but they lost for the first time to Bolton-le-Sands.

Caton United Reserves made the fightback of the day when they fought back from 3-0 to Furness Rovers at half-time.

Furness scored through Andy McDermott, James McNally and Joe Leslie. But Caton turned it around after the break with goals from Andy Kehoe, Jeremy Richards (2), Mark Harrison, Chris Mellor, Mark Burkitt and Dave Wood.

Torrisholme Reserves were thrashed by a good Middleton side with Danny Hawker, Joe Daley, Liam Gordon, Gary Thelman (2), Nigel Borrass (2) and James Turner scoring the goals for Middleton.

In poor conditions and a heavy pitch Kirkby Lonsdale Reserves put out a strong side and won a point with a 1-1 draw with Freehold Fc.

Kirkby went into he lead after 25 minutes but a penalty in first half stoppage time by Phil Clements levelled the scores.

In Division Three, Arnside Reserves could only draw 2-2 with Overton FC, despite two goals from James Kirkham.

Overton replied through John Gerrard and Peter Marin.

Bolton-le-Sands Reserves played Allithwaite Rangers for the third game running and won 2-1 with father and son, Dave and Nicholas Pidcock scoring.

Carnforth Rangers Reserves were just too good for Boys Club Reserves, winning 2-1, an own goal the difference.

The two leaders in Division Four both had easy wins. Squires Fc beat Gregson Reserves 8-2, Richard Howard (2), Neil Thompson (2), Ryan speak (2), Dave Graham and Jake Harrison scoring the goals.

Halton Rangers Reserves have joined Squires in winning promotion after a 6-0 win at Burton Thistle Reserves, leading scorer Richard McDonnell scoring a hat-trick.
