ONE of Lancaster's best loved canalside pubs has scooped the North West Regional Champion Pub of the Year gong at the Great British Pub Awards.
The Water Witch beat top competition from around the region to win the accolade, which was presented at a glittering awards ceremony at London's Hilton.
The Water Witch had already been named Cask Ale House and Best Food Pub in the regional North West finals earlier this month.
Judges said: "The Water Witch epitomises all that is best about a traditional English inn.
"It combines an excellent food offering, which features many favourite pub dishes, with a sumptuous array of beers and cask ales".
Water Witch manager Jane Barnes, said "I am over the moon with the award.
"It's a great achievement which could not have been possible without our loyal customers and dedicated team of staff."
