IN a band? You could follow in the footsteps of Oasis, Bruce Springsteen and Nick Cave by winning a slot recording at Leeder's Farm studio.
Lancaster's 'Get It Loud in Libraries' initiative is inviting acts in the area to take part in a special 'Battle of the Bands' which may see them bag a chance to record in the top Norfolk studio.

The state-of-the-art facility with luxury accommoda
tion and its own chef has been used by the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Oasis.

Unsigned bands from Morecambe, Lancaster and the rest of the UK are urged to send their contest entries to Lancaster Library for a chance to record at Leeder's Farm with a night's accommodation and full use of a sound engineer for a day.

Thanks to British Energy and Heysham Power Station the lucky band will also receive £500.

Heats will be at selected libraries around the county in October and the grand finale at Lancaster Library in November when a judging panel will decide the winner.

Unsigned bands are invited to send three nominated tracks on CD to:
Stewart Parsons, Lancaster Library, Market Square, Lancaster LA1 1HY, or as mp3 by email to stewart.parsons@lcl.

lancscc.gov.uk or by MySpace message to www.myspace.com/getitloudinlibraries.

Please make sure that your entry includes your full
contact details.

Bands have until Monday, September 1, to submit their entries.
